Section 8
Constitution of University Assembly
(1) There shall be a University Assembly as the highest body in the University.
(2) The formation of the University Assembly shall be as follows:-
(a) Chancellor – Chairman (B) Vice-Chancellor-Vice-President
(c) Vice-Chancellor – Member (d) … … …
(e) Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Sciences, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Science and Technology Academy and two members from among the vice-chancellors of other universities. (f) Principal - Member - Secretary
(g) Registrar – Member
(h) Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology – Member (i) Secretary, Ministry of Finance – Member
(j) Member, National Planning Commission (Education-Related Member). (k) One member from among the former Vice-Chancellors (l) Deans of Institutes of Studies – Members
(d) Deans of Faculties – Members (l) Executive Directors of Research Centers – Members
(n) Five members from among the Heads of Departments (t) Five teachers elected by the electoral board of the President and Secretary of the Nepal Professors' Association Campus Unit of Tribhuvan University on the basis of proportional single transferable vote - member
(1) One representative of the Tribhuvan University Professors' Association - member (T2) One representative of the Nepal Public Campus Association - Member Explanation: According to this clause, a teacher who wants to be a candidate in the election of a member must have been employed in the permanent service of the university for at least fifteen years.
(th) two members from among the campus (college) heads of the Angik Campus (angik Mahavidyalaya) (d) Two members from among the Heads of the Campus (College) of the Affiliated Campus (Affiliated College) (d) One representative of the Nepal Professors' Association - Member (n) Two members from among eminent scholars or eminent persons (p) Two members from among the presidents of the University Independent Students' Union (f) one of the journalists—Member
(b) One representative of the Central Committee of the University Staff Union – Member (b) Two members from among industrialists, traders and donors (3) Apart from the elected and ex-officio members, the nomination of the other members of the Assembly will be done by the Chancellor on the recommendation of the Executive Council.
(4) The term of office of the nominated and elected members shall be three years. However, if the nominated member does not continue in the position for which he was nominated, he shall not automatically remain a member of the Assembly.
